Feederz - Teachers In Space: As much as I think I love The Feederz I also think it's the concept as opposed to the actual music.

Fall Out Boy - Folie A Deux: Expectatons in the basement results in a pretty good album.
Fake Problems - It's Great To Be Alive: Experimentation can be a good thing, helping a band to grow. But this is way too different.

Jeremy Enigk - OK Bear: Another disappointment in its attempted grandiosity.

9.26.2009

Eminem - Relapse: Adequate comeback album. Far from intensity and lyrical prowess of earlier albums. Alludes to future greatness.

9.24.2009

Last Lights - No Past No Present No Future: It's hard not to feel emotion fo the loss of Dominic Mallory. Still, the emotion he captures is song seems more.

9.22.2009

Sonic Youth - The Eternal: 20 years and they're still putting out relavent records. Simply amazing.

9.21.2009

Most Precious Blood - Merciless: Much, much better than Our Lady. Still no mach for Nothing In Vain.
DOOM - Born Like This: It's easily one of, if not the, weakest albums in his catalog. Boring production, mediocre lyrics.

9.20.2009

Most Precious Blood - Our Lady of Annihilation: Not as hungry as debut. Sounds muddy, but if you like NYHC, you'll like this.

Review: Pete Doherty - Grace/Wastelands:

Upon first listen it's another great album by Doherty (this time as a solo artist). Every two years, like clockwork.

    Review: Dead Weather - Horehound:

Upon first listen it was lacking some much-needed energy/enthusiasm at parts. I look forward to what they do next.

Review: David Cross - It's Not Funny:

Upon first listen it was pretty funny. Some jokes, or parts of jokes, fall a bit flat, but I laughed pretty hard at some of them. A lot of politically-related jokes aimed at the expense of the Bush administration.

Review: Converge - Petitioning The Empty Sky:

Upon first listen the illustration this provides for the evolutionary leap to Jane Doe makes this a must-hear, if not a must-listen-daily.

    Review: Discovery - LP:

Upon first listen I just hope the over-the-top electronic experimentation stays in this side project and doesn't bleed too much into their respective main bands.

Review: Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca:

Upon first listen I really dislike this album after the first tracks. Then slowly, track by track, it reversed course and I found that it easily on the of the most frustratingly, insidiously catchy albums I've listened to in a very, very long time.

    Review: Dinosaur Jr - Farm:

Upon first listen it was perfectly acceptable. And had I been a longtime Dinosaur Jr fan, I'd likely have enjoyed it more, but as it stands it's just OK.

Review: Great Friend Of Mine - Desperate Songs:

Upon first listen it's hardcore that falls in more a avant-garde realm somewhere between Verse and Fucked Up.
