Review: Talking Heads - 77:

Upon first listen this is the blueprint for nearly all of the indie rock albums in at least the past 7 years. And I loved every minute of it.

i always though the most compelling thing about the talking heads was that they evolved so much through the course of their career, but did so with an incredible amount of fluidity and quality. you should keep going through their catalog, at least until 'speaking in tongues' (after that they kind of fell off as the band destroyed themselves, but the latter three albums are worth a listen).

talking heads has been consistently my favorite band of all time for two years now, i think, or ever since i really got into them anyway. my favorite albums in order:

    1. fear of music
    2. speaking in tongues
    3. more songs about buildings and food
    4. 77
    5. remain in light
    6. true stories
    7. little creatures
    8. naked

(with the first five being nearly tied for the top spot all)

their two live albums are also both damn good.

really glad to see you liked that album though.
