Review: The Decemberists - Hazards of Love:

Upon first listen it's almost as if their finally living up to the pretentiousness they've been pedalling for the past few years. Almost.

Upon first listen the more I listen, the more I really, really like Death Cab.

Review: Cymbals Eat Guitars - Why There Are Mountains:

Upon first listen it's a sometimes genius, sometimes-frustrating blend of psychedelic rock, post-rock and shoegaze. The potential is obviously there, just sometimes mis-focused.

Review: Cursive - Mama, I'm Swollen:

Upon first listen it's been a long a time since I've listened to Cursive (since The Ugly Organ came out). This album, while hit-or-miss reminds me I should listen to them again and more frequently.

    Review: Cream - Disraeli Gears:

Upon first listen it's obviously a classic blues-rock album, but it's not really something I'll listen to on a regular basis.

Review: Ornette Coleman - The Shape of Jazz to Come/This Is Our Music/Ornette!/Dancing In Your Head/Virgin Beauty/Sound Grammar:

Upon first listen I think I'm pretty burnt out on jazz so it takes something truely special for me to take notice. This was not something of that level, but when my wife overhead it did say "Who are you listening to? Dizzy?" So that's a good sign to revisit at a later date.

Review: Coldplay - Left Right Left Right Left:

Upon first listen this album just infurariates me as I was unable to catch either of Coldplay shows in Atlanta this year. Both due to work. Time for a new job.

    Review: Clipse - Lord Willin':

Upon first listen it's an insidious and unforgettable album. Production is top notch, vocal delivery (almost) flawless. A few too many skits (more than one is too many), but these usually fall at the end of tracks, making skipping them a bit harder.

    Review: Clem Snide x2

Clem Snide - End Of Love: Upon first listen if you had told me this was a Neil Young album, I'd be hard pressed to dispute it.

Clem Snide - Hungry Bird: Upon first listen it's a little slower than End of Love and I regret listening to them back-to-back.

Review: Neko Case - Middle Cyclone:

Upon first listen it's easily a contender for album of the year, sounding like the album we all hoped Jenny Lewis would release.

Review: Boredoms - Super Roots 10:

Upon first listen I just wish it was longer than two original tracks and a bunch of remixes. The remixes aren't bad, but when they follow the original, most of them become grating and distracting.
